Continuing where former Chloe designer, Hannah MacGibbon, left off, the design team focused on wide-leg pants, airy trapeze dresses, 70s inspired bow blouses, and multi-buckled shoes. (Lemme tell you, so hard to pick five highlights. So good, so classic, and I so want to wear everything.)
The Resort 2012 collection from Proenza Schouler featured color blocked pieces in earthy hues, maintaing a boxy silhouette in jackets, dresses, trousers and even mini skirts. Maintaining the 70s motif, the collection featured the occasional bold accessory (such as the necklace on the white mini) but brought a modern edge in with the very linear, clean lined footwear.
Color, color, color ruled at Stella McCartney this year. Weather it came in the form of a solid, black-and-white herringbone, or hawaiian pattern seperates, the central focus was the livability of the pieces.
Celine, Celine, Celine. I can't even find the proper words to describe. Blerg. Phoebe Philo has done it again, delivering that effortless cool that the Celine girl embodies. Stucture, nudes, piping, stripes, and florals all came to Celine's 2012 resort collection on their A game. Add the white, ankle strap platform and you've got success's success (P.S. That totally made sense. Think about it...).
Inspired by "the idea of speed and things that felt fast, like competitive swimming and cycling," Alexander Wang made teh reference very apparent withthe appearance of windbreakers, athletic vests, and even the brand's first attempt at swimwear and tennis shoes.
