Kate Moss by Juergen Teller/Gloucestershire July 14th 2010
TFS
It is rare for me to find myself so completely enamored with an editorial. Typically, I live for the street style and runway side of fashion. With street style it's all so personal, a look into someone's life and their interpretation of fashion. It is about possessing style more than it is about a big bank account or the season's 'it' piece. Runway is where it all begins, the start of the trickle down effect and therefore can't be ignored (I would never). Pour moi, editorial has always been a creative expression, often verging on art but what it usually lacks is the feeling you get when you see the latest collections and especially the sensation of seeing them interpretted in a whole new way. The feeling of almost being touched by the clothes. Editorials, while beautiful to look at, are a so typically a fantasy. You don't live your life in them (not most of us at least...correct me if I am wrong).
However, this series of photographs by Mr. Teller of Kate "The Great" Moss transcend that too typical feature in that the beauty of the pictures lies in their reality. Whether is is Teller's raw style or the fact that Kate really is that great, the photographs feel as though you are witnessing a deeply personal (and deeply fashionable) moment in time.
P.S. I love that some of the clothes are hers. Love!
