last night, i watched the most horrific 106 minutes of my life. it left me scarred, perplexed, angry, and confused. Taxi to the dark side is a documentary on the death of an afghani taxi drver. he was taken to bagram prison after suspicions that he was, indeed, a terrorist. the man was innocent, yet the M.P.'s continually beat him daily. the prisoners were subject to sleep deprivation, sexual abuse (they filmed it and i saw it), and routine beatings.
after the coroner examined the dead body of the innocent taxi driver, his death was ruled a homicide and yet it was months before action followed, the taxi driver was beaten so bad, for so long, that if he would have survived, his legs would have had to have been amputated.
when defending themselves, the M.P.'s responsible pointed the finger at their superiors, citing they'd never been taught how to interagate. that is no excuse. human beings should know better. the methods they use are beyond midevil. anyone in the "terrorist's" situation would confess to anything under such moments of abuse.
i can not see another war such as this. it's a war of hungry men. hungry for money, power, control, HUNGRY. however, wars are not fought by those men. they are fought by the young seekers of a put upon nation.
